Are trees really planted?

Absolutely! At Tips Tree Planting, we are passionate about reforestation. In fact, we plant almost 3 million trees each year. When you purchase a tree, you are not only covering the cost of the sapling but also contributing towards creating and mailing a beautiful certificate dedicated to your loved one or friend.

Where are trees planted & can I visit my tree?

Due to the large number of trees planted annually, we are unable to provide specific details about the location of individual trees. Rest assured, our trees are planted where they are most needed and in environments that are conducive to their growth. While you may not be able to visit your specific tree, you can take pride in knowing that your contribution is making a difference.

What kinds of trees are planted?

At Tips Tree Planting, we take inspiration from Leviticus 19:23, “When you shall come to the land, you shall plant trees.” We make it a priority to choose a variety of trees that are indigenous to the areas where we plant. Some of the trees we plant include olive, palm, oak, Jerusalem pine, sycamore, cypress, and many others.

Certificate Orders

You might be wondering how long it takes to receive your certificate. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Our certificates are carefully handled and mailed out from our New York office within 1-2 business days after purchase. You can expect to receive your certificate within 7-10 business days. If you need it faster, we also offer a Federal Express option for U.S. addresses at an additional donation of $50. Please note that the Federal Express option is not available if a plaque finish is chosen. In such cases, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

If your friend didn’t receive their certificate, we’ll be more than happy to reissue it. Just let us know and we’ll take care of it.

Need an extra copy of the certificate? We can provide a duplicate copy for an additional donation of $10.

Looking for alternative acknowledgment options? You can make a donation to Jewish National Fund in honor or memory of someone, and we will send an acknowledgement of your donation to them.

Our History

Let’s take a moment to learn more about Jewish National Fund (JNF). We are a not-for-profit organization and a United Nations NGO (non-governmental organization) dedicated to building a prosperous future for the land of Israel and its people.

JNF was founded at the Fifth Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland, on December 29, 1901. In the United States, JNF was established in 1926. While we work closely with KKL-JNF in Israel, we have no role in its management. Our organization in the U.S. is managed by a board of directors representing a broad spectrum of Jewry from across America. We focus on projects that align with our mission.

JNF’s journey began in 1901 with a dream and vision to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people worldwide. Through the iconic JNF Blue Boxes, Jews from all walks of life collected coins, purchasing land and planting trees. This collective effort ultimately turned their dream of a Jewish homeland into a reality. Today, JNF continues to improve the quality of life for all of Israel’s residents through various initiatives.

JNF Blue Boxes

Speaking of Blue Boxes, what exactly are they? The JNF Blue Box was created in 1901 with the intention of raising money for land purchases in Ottoman-controlled Palestine. The boxes were initially blue and became known as “Blue Boxes.” People from all over the globe started placing coins in these boxes, with the hope of contributing to the establishment of a Jewish homeland. The JNF Blue Box served as a symbol of the unbreakable bond between the Jewish people and their land.
