How Can I Help?

How Can I Help?

People like you can play a crucial role in growing the urban forest in Dallas, which will improve our quality of life and benefit future generations. One of the most impactful actions you can take is to plant and care for trees. Not only do trees contribute to cleaner air, cleaner water, and cooler temperatures, but they also offer countless other advantages to our community.

Every individual has the power to make a difference. Get involved by planting a tree in your own yard.

Become a Citizen Forester

To advocate for Dallas’ trees and contribute to the conservation and expansion of our urban forest, why not become a Citizen Forester?

As a Citizen Forester, you’ll serve as the city’s eyes, ears, and hands for tree-related issues. Through training, you’ll gain the necessary expertise to identify tree species, learn proper planting techniques, and recognize potential hazards. These skills are crucial for conserving and expanding our urban forest in Dallas. If you’re interested in learning more or signing up for classes, please visit our Citizen Forester page.

Volunteer to Plant Trees

Planting trees is perhaps the easiest way to conserve Dallas’ urban forest and bring shade back to our city. With numerous neighborhoods and street medians in need of shade, public areas provide an excellent starting point for re-beautifying our community. Consider collaborating with your neighborhood association or business to spearhead a tree-planting project. And if that’s not feasible, you can always join the city’s existing tree planting initiatives. For more information, contact our Tree Planting Team Leader.

As a volunteer, you’ll assist the Committee, the public, and our partner organizations in planting trees from various sources. Additionally, committee members will provide professional expertise and information to facilitate tree planting throughout Dallas. Take the first step today by planting a tree and making a lasting difference for tomorrow.

Fund Tree Plantings

Would you like to see more trees planted in Dallas? If you’re fortunate enough to have the financial means but lack the manpower or organizational resources to implement tree planting projects yourself, there is an alternative.

You can choose to fund a tree planting initiative.

Our committee has a variety of ideas and locations for much-needed tree plantings. However, due to the costs involved in planting and maintaining trees, we are limited in the number of trees we can plant as an organization. By funding a tree planting, you can support our efforts to plant trees in public spaces on your behalf. We will publicly acknowledge your contribution as we work to lessen the burden on Dallas taxpayers. For more information and to make a donation, please visit our donation page.

Remember, your support can help transform Dallas into a greener and more sustainable city for everyone to enjoy.

Let’s work together to make a difference!
